Some Recent Success Stories
Most of our cases are settled long before litigation.
A female trader was not being paid as much as her male co-workers. We brought an Equal Pay Claim in the Tribunal. Before trial, our team settled the matter on the basis of back-pay and additional compensation for injury to feelings.
An employee with polio was unfairly made redundant. He believed he had been subjected to Disability Discrimination. Future work options seemed bleak. Our in-house advocacy service took the matter to Tribunal, and won. Our client received two years loss of earnings and a substantial award for injury to feelings.
A female TV presenter came to see us-complaining she had been unfairly dismissed because of her sex. We brought a Sexual Discrimination claim, and subsequently settled the case with a six figure sum.
Two top city traders were forced to resign and denied their commission. The company claimed the traders had to back-pay bonus money, and took our clients to the High Court. We defended the action, and counter-claimed constructive dismissal and commission owing. After the trial had started the other side agreed to pay two six figure sums of compensation to settle the cases.
A successful Managing director of an AIM listed company was summarily dismissed and accused of misrepresentation after a change of control. We defended these allegations, and brought a Tribunal Claim with a High Court claim pending, finally settling all litigation for a six figure sum.
